Zentangle-esque Pattern

Another pattern based on an attempted Zentangle doodle. And as you can see, I'm struggling to come up with names for them...
Anyway, have fun with them :)

Zennish Pattern

I'm not really sure what to call this pattern. It was the result of my attempt at Zentangle, but it doesn't look anything like it. Still, I hope someone will be able to find a use for it. Have fun :)

Paint Tube Pattern

That blob of paint on yesterday's Paint Brush Pattern had to come from somewhere, so here's the design for the paint tube. Enjoy :)

Paint Brush Pattern

Yesterday's Pencil Pattern automatically led to this paint brush design. You have the option between a paint brush with and without a blob of paint. Have fun :)

Pencil Pattern

The sketchbook I made earlier gave me the idea for a pencil design. I've also made "pattern" for a squiggly line, but there are loads of better options to use, like initials, for instance. Enjoy :)

Coptic Stitch Sketchbook

I just finished this small sketchbook :)

Please click picture for larger image
I found some more of the paper that I used for the Twin Sized Pads, which was left over from a previous "project". Since I have a hard time throwing things out, even scraps of paper (or scraps of anything for that matter...), I figured this would be a good opportunity to practise a bookbinding technique, called the Coptic Stitch. This is the second time I've tried that stitch and I think I must be improving, because at least now the cover will lie flat, as opposed to the first one:

Getting the right tension is tricky...
Now, none of this is very noteworthy, but I suddenly realised that all the materials I used are either recycled or bought at flea markets, even the glue and the yarn.
It's great to make useful stuff out of what otherwise might have ended up in the skip :)
Should you like to try the Coptic Stitch yourself, here's a link to a tutorial

Big Pile of Paper

An update on the Twin Size Pads Tutorial; I said I would post a picture of glueing a bigger stack of paper and here it is :)
notepad tutorial
Please click picture for larger image
It's about 2.5 centimetres (one inch) thick and I easily could have made it much thicker than that had I not run out of recycled paper...
I didn't have the right size cardboard either so I just used two left-over bits to distribute the pressure of the clamps more evenly, making sure they weren't glued to the stack. So now I have a huge notepad, I think I will cut it up into smaller ones though.
All in all, I'm quite happy with how well this works, with a big thanks to my dad for letting me borrow his glue clamps :)

It might also be fun to have yesterday's "undressed" princess surrounded by loads of gowns. Use the basic pattern on the right as a base for your own creations, or use the one below to help you get started.
Either way, have fun  :)

Shell Pattern

A shell pattern to embroider, or any other medium you like. Enjoy :)
I've added a dotted line, which I hope will make the pattern easier to use as a prick&pounce stencil. Please note, that as it has been made in Inkscape the dots aren't placed exactly accurately; some corners require additional dots to ensure an accurate transfer to your fabric.

Lotus Pattern

lotus free hand embroidery pattern
Lotus Pattern (click to zoom)
A pattern to embroider in an outline stitch, for instance the backstitch. More skilled embroiderers may even use a satin stitch perhaps?
It could also be used as an appliqué, but I guess that might be a bit fiddly.
I left some space open in the middle, to leave room for initials or anything else you'd like to add to it.
Enjoy :)

Twin Size Pads Tutorial

Recently I made these notepads and took some pictures of how I did it, hoping to turn them into a tutorial of sorts.  They were made "two-in-one", which may sound confusing, but it will all be made clear in the tutorial."Tutorial" may be too big a word for it, by the way, but "This-is-how-I-make-stuff-through-trial-and-error-and-I-hope-you-find-it-useful" seemed a bit long for a tag...
